Estero Llano Grande State Park

This weekend Chris and I visited Estero Llano Grande State Park in Weslaco.  It is a lovely park that showcases peaceful marshes teeming with birds and is even home to a lazy alligator.

We even spotted the paraque bird.  He is beautifully designed to camouflage with his wooded surroundings.  Can you spot him?

Moonlight

If I was trendy and said things like "currently trending," I would say that this is currently trending in my music library.  Had I discovered this prior to my wedding, it might have replaced the Bridal Chorus.

Another Year

Before I embrace the new year, I have a few final words regarding 2013.  The year 2013 marked ten years of Chris and Kim as a couple.  In November 2003, Chris asked me to be his girlfriend.  I said yes, and for the next ten years we accumulated a lot of stuff.  I know you expected me to say something sappier, such as "for the next ten years we accumulated a lot of love," or "for the next ten years we accumulated a lot of memories."  Read through my blog and you will know that Chris and I accumulated an immeasurable number of these things.  Right now, however, I am focusing on the tangible and that means the stuff.

The first time Chris and I moved, we moved in our vehicles.

The next move required a small moving truck and a trailer.

The next move required the biggest moving truck available.  That's a lot of stuff, especially when you consider that we started with nothing but clothing, a few electronics, a couple of bikes, and our respective vehicles.

What should I strive for in 2014?  More love, more adventures, more stories?  Absolutely.  More stuff?  Probably not, although that's easier said than done.

Here's to a new year filled with the intangible.
